Jour quarante-cinq

HALF WAY

...began with the famous morning market in Sarlat. The pictures speak for themselves. It was completely charming.
We then enjoyed breakfast at the hotel and packed up to begin the days adventures.
We then headed off to the favorite castle of the trip: Chateau de Beynac.

As was consistent with the theme of being the only people anywhere, we were also able to run free in this castle. We even played hide and seek, and had a dance party on the roof.
It is still impossible to decide what was more breathtaking: the ruins or the view.
Then came the good news. Our train home scheduled for that day was cancelled (thank you strikes!) Suddenly our trip became a day and a half longer, and the energy level of the group doubled because of excitement.
The next stop was Lascaux Cave, but first, the little town surrounding it. The day before, they held an accordion festival, and the whole town was lined with this colored tissue.
Lascoux Cave came next, the first known cave paintings, dating back over 17,000 years. Pretty incredible. Of course, you're not allowed to take pictures, so here's Spencer and I waiting to go in. And a sneaky picture of lex I took while in the entrance.
We were then able to visit Collonges-de-Rouge, a perfect little town built completely with red brick, where I would like to live someday.

That night we stayed at a hotel in Brive la Gauillarde. And when I say this, I mean, we were the only ones staying at this hotel. And as soon as we realized this...it was a party.
We ordered out pizza and the whole group piled into shae, trisha's, and my room. Then some people studied, while others played, and others prepared for the highlight of the weekend.
Dead Annie.
A few favorite reactions:
"Guys, everyone act like you're in mourning over annie when she walks in!"And of course, the ultimate:Nothing like conversing with the dead to really bring a group together.

A demain,

b

Ahhh! B, that view is probably one of the prettiest things I've ever seen, with the misty clouds and fields, holy cow.
Too bad you missed that accordion festival, bummer, but the tissue balls were cute too.
Your adventures look breathtaking and amazing, and I'm so glad you took Dead Annie to France, tis the season, after all.
