Jours Vingt-huit de Trente-sept

...began when Shae left me for the south of France and I had to fend for myself. But these days were wonderful too. They consisted of the following:

a new love affair with this park:

a restored love of bruschetta; a favorite of my grandma and I, and the cheapest thing to make for lunch every day.
a first time seeing this: (guess what they're all staring at)
the discovery that I live one metro stop away from this castle, St. Germain: dinner soirées at Madame's:
the first of many good meals made by us three for the group:

Then finally my Shady returned to me...

It was a happy reunion. The first thing I had to do was show her our castle! She loved it too. All the girls enjoyed a Sunday afternoon picnic at the gardens.

Then it got cold. Too cold for walking around Le Marais studying the architecture of 17th century buildings (but we did it anyway).

a new love of Falafel!!a new appreciation of Impressionism.

(I finally let Shae take me to Musée D'orsay...)a new cookbook!!!

We tried our first recipe from it this weekend...Le Vachèrin tout le monde:a new gratitude to Madame and AnnaMarie for always letting us overstay our welcome at their apt:
another good meal from the chefs:a continued love of sunrises: (this one was out my window)

the realization and confidence that I can live in and find my way around Paris, by myself, which I, never in my life would have thought possible.

(but it's also fun to have my little toshiko back)

My dedicated fans, I'll make you a pastry from "La Pâtisserie" when I return.
